Call for Appointed Board Members

The NMC Board of Trustees is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for three appointed Trustee positions. The appointed Trustees will serve three years, with the possibility of reappointment, as per the Fund Rules.

Skills and Requirements

Actuary, Chartered Accountant and Registered Medical Doctor or Specialist with 10 years of relevant experience in their respective fields.
Experience serving on various boards is preferred.

Qualification Criteria:

In terms of the Rules of the Fund, no person shall be allowed to be a Trustee if he/she is:

Contractually incapacitated or involved in the medical industry where conflict of interest may occur
Of unsound mind and has been so declared by a competent court
An unrehabilitated insolvent
Found guilty by a competent court, in the Republic of Namibia or elsewhere, of theft, fraud, forgery or any similar offence
Dismissed from an office of trust on account of misconduct
Found guilty by a competent court on any charge and sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine
A director, member, employee or other official of any organisation serving as the Administrator of the Fund or a director, member, employee or other official of any organisation rendering services to the Administrator in connection with the business of the Fund
The Auditor of the Fund
A service provider to the Fund. However, if a Member is elected, they must declare any possible conflict of interest before each board meeting
